This list suggests a sample of important recent studies in the field of Mediterranean history. The list is organized by categories – general overviews, studies sorted by historical eras and some different thematic categories. In addition, there is a category of databases on various topics related to Mediterranean history. The list represents various methodological approaches and subjects.

For now, all the studies on the list are in English and most have been published from the year 2000 onwards. It reflects current work of HCMH members and therefore far from comprehensive.
