 Research field: crusader art, expression in monumental art.

Dr. Fishhof teaches medieval and crusader art history in the Department of Art History at Haifa University. He specializes in crusader art, and devotes his research to the expression in monumental art of such questions as patronage, competition between holy sites, and the formation of institutional identity through the creation of foundation legends. His studies are dedicated, among others, to the mural cycle of the church of Emmaus (Abu-Ghosh) and its Hospitaller patrons, and to the church of the Annunciation in Nazareth. His publications appeared in Mediaevistik, Arte Medievale , Annales de Bourgogne and Viator.
