New publication in Chidushim by research fellow, Dr. Oded Cohen

Dr. Oded Cohen, HCMH research fellow, published a new article in Hebrew in the journal Chidushim, titled “The Jew and the Wanderer: Self-Images and Complex Identities in Avraham Levy’s Travelogue”.

The article examines the identity components of Avraham Levy – a young Jew who traveled in central Europe and Italy in the years 1719-1723. An examination of his travelogue reveals the various components of his identity – a cosmopolitan traveler, author of a travel book who considers himself a member of contemporary European culture, but also a Jew who views himself as belonging to a particular religious-social group.

Congratulations Oded!
