An MA graduate from University College London, Debora Spizzichino is now a PhD candidate in the Haifa Center for Mediterranean History and the Department of Maritime Civilizations at the University of Haifa. Supervised by Prof. Gil Gambash and Dr. Shirly Ben-Dor Evian, her project examines funerary practices and ancient Egyptian influences over the Eastern Mediterranean. She is interested in the function and cosmological significance of funerary goods, their movement across the Mediterranean, and the shifts in their use and meaning according to social, political, and religious changes.
